The Twin Towers, Rest in Peace to all those who suffered |
After hearing to the hour, 7 minute, 11 second long podcast about 9/11's Immigration Legacy by Julieta Martinelli, Alejandra Salazar and Victoria Estrada from
Latina USA, I wanna say the nightmare is still here but it still can be helped. The things I learned form this podcast is the stress we are still living with from that day and how we can recover with helping each of our states improve our security. I liked hearing about how some of the people who were talking in the podcast had a horrible experience with the 9/11 aftermath but then it got better as time went on. What I didn't like is how the podcast how the government taked just basic criticism and how this "criticism" can help millions but "...If you questioned any of this well that made you an unpatriotic american" (Latino 7:10-7:15). One thing we can do to help those in trouble from the aftermath of this crisis is media coverage, we all have it we all use it, how about we use it for good.

Just someone turning on their TV maybe to watch drama news |
The article that I read really shows the power of media coverage and how important it is, the article is called
"Entertainment Wars: Television Culture after 9/11" by Lynn Spigel published in June 2004. The connection between this and my Latino USA segment is one they both talk about 9/11. Two because this article talks about the power media has over giant event in our world or even a small event but the small doesn't get on the news only drama. "...the fate of nationalism in contemporary media systems is a huge question that requires perspectives from more than one field of inquiry," and it needs more perspective in telling if we need more drama or do we need to show some good for the people (Spigel 239). Show us the benefit of doing an act that can help millions.

Unity |
The change that can help millions is simply showing a way that can help millions especially immigrants and in that path of showing something good will cause an uprising in people's heart for that change. "...creating a through-line for the American past that flattered a despairing public by making them the moral victims of a pure outside evil" the outside evil being not able to help one another to grow stronger (Spigel 245). "People can and are still persecuted for their legal status and often it still starts with a drivers liscense" which is insane to think of it is 2021 we have sprung so much change this year and last year and as you can see anything can happen when we all work together (Latino 40:58-41:06). The power or technology being able to show the justice in helping one another is pure art and pure unity. Unity being the
rise of justice and the rise of doing the right thing and helping one another especially those less fortunate than you in a legal term.
