Hello I just finished reading the book called Fresh Fruit, Broken Bodies by Seth M. Holmes published on April 15, 2013. This book is a book that puts us, the readers, into someone else's shoes entirely and it is not your typical person who is having a bad day. It is thousands of people who are suffering for our life, its not doctors or police officers, its the small percentage of people who are farmworkers. Farmworkers have it really hard and to them "Migrants face many mortal dangers in the borderlands" whether it be the police, other people, or just finding a place to sleep (Holmes 8). This book takes us readers on a journey with Seth M. Holmes who lived with these farmworkers and tried to live in their shoes.

After reading the book I looked more into what Seth M. Holmes has said about his experience and I came across this
video which is a short video for the experience he had but it brings the point of helping one another. More into the story Seth M. Holmes talks about the dangers and the "Broken Bodies" farmworkers get from doing there job. After continous hours of picking fruit "...my knees continually hurt...I leaned forward...below the leaves and my neck and back began to hurt by late morning" and the sad part is that they have to do it all over again the next day (Holmes 88). This book with all the mini stories inside of it really show the broad aspect of understanding one another and deciding to help one another. This book really brings an upfront aspect of how other's lives are and how big this world truly is and how we can show more aspects onto these types of subjects by just taking the first step of putting it out there.

This book can be the start of the uprising of change it can be the foundation of others telling there stories with others who are more unfortanute than us. These types of books can also bring into aspect history and meaning behind some words we use or how they effect said people. "The use of these terms involves inequalities in respect based in class and ethnicitiy" which is something we should stray far away from if we want to become better for this world we live on (Holmes 187). All we have is one another and bringing these books that can show the pain, the struggle, and the basic modern life of others, it can bring an inspiration to many people. This book is an art that many don't want to read because it doesn't fit into their "style" of reading or their preffered genre, well maybe it is time to open up and read this fantastic book and see how life is way bigger than what we think.
